Jack R. Rivett, 79, of Penn Run, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024, at his home, with his loving wife by his side.

A son of the late Jack R. and Dorothy A. (Trout) Rivett, he was born Aug. 24, 1944, in Strongstown.

Jack proudly served his country in the Unites State Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he started his career as a welder and continued welding until his retirement. Following retirement, he worked at Specialty Tire. Jack loved horses, hunting, his guns, his dogs and his kids.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan K. (Black) Rivett, of Penn Run; four children: Wesley Pixley and wife Michelle, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Brenda Wingard and husband Jerry, of Clarksburg; Marcey Rearick and husband Stephen, of Apollo; Christy McCombie and husband Zach, of Hilton Head, SC; a brother, Patrick Circle, of Commodore; two sisters: Julianna Meinhold and husband Paul, of St. Louis, Mo.; Cheryl Allen and husband Anthony, of TX; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very special family in Oklahoma, they were like brothers to him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Shomo.

In keeping with Jack’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service with military rites will be held at Pineland Cemetery at a later date. Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
