James E. Donahue

James Eugene Donahue, 73, of Homer City, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.

The son of James M. and AdaBelle (Blystone) Donahue, he was born April 14, 1951, in Indiana, PA.

James worked for Nickles Bakery as a salesman for 39 years, retiring in 2014. His favorite part of the job was talking to people on his sales route.

In his spare time, James enjoyed listening to blue grass music and polka, and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his three children, Jodi Lapp (David Mardis) of Saltsburg, Amy D. Moon (William) of Indiana, and Scott E. Donahue (Sheri) of Lucernemines; two grandchildren, Kaylee Moon, and Garrett Donahue; a sister, Beverly Bizzaro (Albert) of Erie; a special aunt, Alberta Blystone of Blairsville; and his loyal pup, Louie.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his loving wife on January 14, 2023, Linda J. (Shirley) Donahue, whom he married on April 8, 1972, and a sister, Linda Dunn.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 8th from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Steve Rearick officiating. 

Interment will be in the Brush Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Brush Valley Twp., PA.
