James L. Whitesell

James Lee Whitesell, 75, of Saltsburg, PA, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at his home.

The son of Andrew R. and Alice J. (Wachob) Whitesell, he was born September 19, 1949, in Punxsutawney, PA. 

A Purple Heart and a Bronze Star recipient, Mr. Whitesell was a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam.

Mr. Whitesell worked at Winchester Industries in Saltsburg until his retirement.

He enjoyed visiting his friend’s camp.

Surviving is his daughter, Carla Whitesell of Ernest; his brother, Lou Whitesell (Denise Finley) of Derry; his sister, Shirley Fisher (Karl) of Black Lick; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and Lyle, and an infant sister, Pamela.

Per Mr. Whitesell’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Inurnment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
