Janet M. Walker

Janet Mae (McKee) Walker, 85, of Torrance, PA died on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, PA.

The daughter of Robert T. and Edith E. (Bost) McKee, she was born on November 19, 1938, in Torrance, PA.

Janet was a graduate of Derry High School, Class of 1956.

She enjoyed needle work, and making Christmas stockings and Afgans for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but more than anything, her family was her pride and joy.

Surviving are six children, Gregory S. (Carlita) of Navarre, FL, David R. (Jennifer) of Blairsville, Dawn R. Yurky (Ralph) of Homer City, Jill R. Wolford of Torrance, Colleen L. Jobe (Lance) of Greensburg, and Erin K. Ewing (Eric) of Greensburg; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Roberta J. Wasko of Blairsville; a stepsister, Martha Keith of Ft. Mill, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, Norman F. Walker on October 29, 2015, a son-in-law, Terry Wolford, and four stepbrothers, Malcom, Dale, Earl, and Wilbur Dunlap.

Per Janet’s wishes, there will be no visitation.

A funeral service will be held in The United Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024, at 11 AM with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.

A special thank you to the staff at Redstone Highlands for the care given during Janet’s stay.
