Janice M. Stets

Janice M. Stets, 84, of Brenizer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA.

She was born on January 6, 1940, the daughter of John and Mary (Mahkovic) Zubaty.

Janice graduated from Derry Township High School in 1957.

Following graduation she was employed for five years at Torrance State Hospital.  She was then employed by Westinghouse of Derry, PA and Industrial Ceramics Incorporated until her retirement.  She was married to Joseph Stets in 1966 and they made their home next door to Janice’s parents in Brenizer.

Janice was a member of SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church in Blairsville, PA.

She is survived by her nieces, Leslie Anderson (Alex) and Laurie Brantley (Gene), her nephews Robert (Barbara), Neil (Kara), and Aaron (Ashley) Zubaty, and her sisters-in-law Cindy Zubaty and Cristine Daughenbaugh.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Stets, Jr. on March 10, 2014, brothers, John, Edward, and Ronald Zubaty, and sister-in-law Lee Zubaty.

Janice was a very kind and generous person who will be much missed by her family and many friends.  A special thank you to her devoted friends who were so loving and supportive to Janice during her difficult journey these last many months.

Per Janice’s wishes there will be no visitation.  A memorial Mass will be scheduled at a future date.

Interment will be in the SS Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.
