Jean M. Park

Jean Marie (Mumma) Park, 88, of Shelocta, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at her home.

A daughter of the late Jay G. and Elsie I. (Baumgartner) Mumma, she was born Sept. 24, 1934, in Hummelstown.

Jean was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. For over 15 years, she taught school in Greensburg, Wilkinsburg and Hershey. Jean loved seeing her school kids when she was out in public. She was a very bright woman. Above all else, Jean loved her family. She had a million friends and loved to talk to people. Jean was a voracious reader, reading no less than two books a week.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick R. Park; two children, Kevin J. Park (Nan Williams) and Jayne I. Martinez (Segar).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Frederick Richard Park II, four sisters and a brother.

There is no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
