Joanne Florence Rainey

Joanne Florence (Troxell) Rainey, 81, of Blairsville, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 in Beacon Ridge Nursing Home.

She was the daughter of Joseph Troxell and Erma (Alwine) Troxell-Smith; she was born in Johnstown, PA on December 14, 1938.

She enjoyed going to yard sales, knitting, making crafts, and raising her chickens.

Joanne worked at Torrance State Hospital as an LPN for 22 years until her retirement in 1998.

She is survived by her children, Lori Leddon (Philip) of Salibury, NC, Patricia L. Crawford (Roger) of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Edwin Troxell (Mary Lou) of Blairsville; grandsons, Robert Crawford, Joseph Crawford (Fiancee, Mallory Garsteck) and Dylan Leddon (Jenna); and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert Rainey, Jr., who passed away on September 9, 1992.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Terry Semsick officiating.

Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
