John M. “Jack” Jennings, Jr., 81, of Derry, PA passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.
The son of John M. Jennings, Sr. and Alberta (Hogue) Jennings, he was born December 25, 1937 in Coral, PA.
Jack attended Hillside United Methodist Church, Derry, PA.
He liked to hunt, fish and camp, enjoyed going to car races, singing, and playing the keyboard and guitar.
He worked for Kennametal for 40 years, retiring in 2001.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Betty J. (Myers) Jennings whom he married June 26, 1959; three children, John M. Jennings, III (Tina) of Derry; Thomas E. Jennings (Laurie) of Clymer and Colleen R. Hopkins (James) of Derry; eight grandchildren, John M. Jennings, IV, Todd Jennings, Matthew Jennings, Jennifer Harpster, Ashley Jennings, Thomas Jennings, Holly Jennings and Mandie Downs; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Jennings (Frances) of Homer City and Gene Jennings (Evelyn) of Duncansville; a sister, Charlotte Hallett (Chester) of Chesapeake Bay, MD and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Brian Jennings.
As per Jack’s wishes a private visitation and funeral service will be held at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.
Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
