Kathryn E. “Kay” (Jacob) Barnhart, 96, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Keeper of the Flame, Blairsville, PA.
The daughter of Earl H. Jacob, Sr. and Mary E. (Ramaley) Jacob, she was born January 13, 1923 in Wall, Allegheny Co., PA.
Mrs. Barnhart graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1941.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville, where she was a deacon and member of the Mizpah Sunday School Class. Member of the Third Friday Sewing Club, First Saturday 500 Card Club, former member of Blairsville Grange #2012 and past president of the Pittsburgh China Club.
She enjoyed painting, especially porcelain, loved to sew and gave sewing lessons at her home for many years.
Surviving are her son, Gary Barnhart and his wife, Carol of Blairsville and daughter, Barbara Brown and her husband, Terry of Blairsville; two granddaughters, Shelly Brown and Jill Richards (Gregg), four great grandchildren, Delaney Richards, Reid Davis, Jake Richards and Connor Davis and a Special Cousin Duilla Harkins of Greensboro, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond E. “Pete” Barnhart in 2013, granddaughter Julie Brown and a brother, Earl Jacob Jr.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral Home with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.
Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
