Kenneth "Ken" P. Litvik

Kenneth “Ken” Paul Litvik, 72, of Blairsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA. Ken was the husband of Carol A. (Urchek) Litvik, whom he married on October 3, 1981.

Born on November 3, 1951 in Tintown, Indiana County, Ken was the son of the late Paul L. and Agnes (Lisicky) Litvik. He was a long-time member of the St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Bradenville.

A 1970 graduate of Derry High School, Mr. Litvik was a longtime farmer, a trait he cherished with his father on their family farm. In his younger years, he was a den leader and later Cubmaster while his son was in the Cub Scouts. Ken retired from Carclo Technical Plastics in Latrobe after many years of service. After his retirement, Ken enjoyed portraying the character of Geppetto in Story Book Forest at Idlewild. Most of all, Ken’s passion was his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Carol Litvik; three sons, Matthew (Nykki) Litvik, of Blairsville; Nicholas Litvik of Bessemer City, NC; Joshua (Paris) Litvik of Pittsburgh; daughter Kayla (Caleb) Karasack of Blairsville; four grandchildren, Sébastien Simonise-Litvik, Ethan Karasack, Alex Karasack, Olivia Karasack; and sister, Cathy Beighley of Blairsville. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph Litvik.

The family will receive friends on Friday November 10, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, 49 N. Walnut St, Blairsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 112 St. Mary’s Way, Bradenville, PA on Saturday November 11, 2023 beginning at 10AM. Burial will be immediately following at the St. Mary’s Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial donations be made in Ken’s honor to the Westmoreland County Food Bank, 110 Devonshire Dr., Delmont, PA.
