Lucille "Lucy" A. (Short) Gallo

Lucille “Lucy” Ann Gallo, 94, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 20, 1929, in Indiana, the daughter of the late Norris and Bessie (Peace) Short. Lucy was a full-time housewife and mother who was dedicated to her family. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and was the mom who drove her daughters and their friends to school activities, church outings and wherever they needed to go. For a few years she worked as a school crossing guard in Indiana. Lucy loved the outdoors and was a frequent visitor to Blue Spruce and Yellow Creek Parks. She also enjoyed weekend trips to Clear Creek State Park, Cook Forest and Benezette.

Lucy is survived by daughters, Patti Murphy and husband Kevin and Judy Emigh and husband George; longtime companion and caregiver, Edward Burtick; best friend, Linda Betz; brother-in-law, Joseph Gallo; sister-in-law, Lena Buratti; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Short; and former husband, John Gallo.

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lucy's honor to Four Footed Friends, 220 Beck Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
