Margaret L. (Wymer) Fairman

Margaret Lydia Fairman, 89 of Cabot, PA, formerly of Creekside, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, at Concordia Lutheran Care Center, surrounded by family.

Born December 7, 1933, in Helvetia, PA, Margaret was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Margaret (Reynolds) Wymer. Margaret was a graduate of Indiana Area High School. She worked as a bookkeeper prior to her marriage to John Rankin “Lee” Fairman on March 28, 1953. Margaret loved providing a home where family and friends were always welcome. She enjoyed watching her children, grand-children, and great grandchildren play sports and engage in other school activities, and telling those who visited her about their triumphs. During the last several years, that joy came through hearing accounts of the events or watching them on videos. Margaret was a long-time member of Center Presbyterian Church in Creekside, PA, where she served by singing in the choir, helping prepare and serve funeral dinners and meals for special occasions, and whatever else needed to be done.

Margaret is survived by her sister, LuVera Peffer of Home, PA, her brother Dave (Portia) Wymer of Cincinnati, OH, her children, Ernie (Cindy) Fairman of Creekside, Nancy (Chris) Marshall of Cabot, PA, and Terry (Sandy) Fairman of Shelocta, PA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, three foster granddaughters, and seven great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, parents, and four siblings: Lloyd Wymer, Chuck Wymer, Jack Wymer, and Anna Bence. Margaret’s children want to thank the nursing staff and nurses’ aides of Concordia in Cabot for the loving care they showed Margaret over the past four years. They made her feel special, and they attended to her needs as if she were part of their family.

Friends will be received on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm at the Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 North 7th Street, Indiana, PA. A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM, with The Rev. Chris Marshall of New Life Christian Ministries, Saxonburg, PA officiating. Internment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
