Marian E. Dettling

Marian E. (Hamill) Dettling, 100, of Latrobe, PA, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA.

The daughter of Joseph P. and Rose M. (Repp) Hamill, she was born May 24, 1918 in Hillside, PA.

Mrs. Dettling was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville.

She was an avid baseball fan and loved watching and listening to Pirate baseball.

Surviving are a son, James J. Dettling of Chicago, IL; two daughters, Alice Marie Ankney of Latrobe and Mary Ann Dettling of Shickshinny; four grandchildren, Lisa Noel, Dean Ankney, William Hubbard and Denise Bullis and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William P.  Dettling in 1991, three brothers, James, Charles and William, a sister, Frances Hamill and a grandson Rick Dettling.

At per Marian’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
