Marilyn L. Peterman

Marilyn Lee (Lewis) Peterman, 91, of Indiana, formerly of Shelocta, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at Beacon Ridge, Indiana.

The daughter of Blair and Alma (McAdoo) Lewis, she was born March 23, 1932, in Deckers Point.

Mrs. Peterman graduated from Indiana High School, Class of 1949; worked at Scenery Hill, Indiana; attended Crete Presbyterian Church; and enjoyed flower gardening.

Surviving are seven daughters, Deborah Graham (Albert), of Elders Ridge; Adele Sbardella (John), of Brush Valley; Lorraine Starr, of Huntingdon; Colleen Roshia (Steve), of Lyons, N.Y.; Mary Kay Peterman, of Templeton; Martha Peterman, of Starford; and Dolores Lewis, of Shelocta; 11 grandchildren, Erica, Bonnie, Steve, Valesha, Aaron, Michael, Jake, Douglas, Loretta, Crystal and Molly; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Lewis, of NuMine; and a brother, Edward Lewis (Lisa), of Wilmington, Del.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, John F. Peterman, on Aug. 5, 2014; two sisters, Gwendolyn Kunkle and Leah Lewis; and three brothers, Bill, James and Gerald Lewis.

Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon Tuesday at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N. 7th Street, Indiana, with Pastor Terry Semsick officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Shelocta.
