Marjorie Peterson

Marjorie Peterson died Tuesday, May 12, 2020 in Hudson, Florida where she resided for more than a year since moving from Pennsylvania. Born June 11, 1926 in Belpre, Ohio, she was the daughter of Wilma Davis and Samuel Jess Lightfritz. She graduated from Belpre High School and The Ohio State University. She worked as a book keeper at Peterson Hardware, owned and operated by her husband, William Peterson. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and a deacon. She was a member of Circle Club, Presbyterian Women and lead an adult Bible study group. She sang in the Chancel Choir 61 years.

She was a member of Chapter C, P.E.O. and the Todd Bird Club of Indiana where she participated in the annual migratory bird count several years. She belonged to New Century Club, AARP Evergreen Chapter 2581, Rainbow Diamond Glass Club, Indiana Garden Club, The Ohio State University Alumni Association and Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity. She volunteered with the Visiting Nurses Association. When her children were young she was active in Ben Franklin PTA. She was an avid reader and served as a trustee of the Indiana Free Library.

She is survived by a son, Eric W. Peterson of Delaware, Ohio, and a daughter Ann E. Peterson and her husband Jonathan Fister of Hudson, Florida. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Vikki Peterson Scholl (Kevin Scholl), Delaware, Ohio; Adam Fister (Carissa Fister), Kernersville, North Carolina; Jay Fister (Tracy Fister), Ocean Pines, Maryland; and Lauren Fister Borie (Blair Borie), New Port Richey, Florida. She has five great-grandchildren: Hadley Scholl, Alec and Hannah Fister, Evan Tafoya and Landon Borie.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, William A. Peterson who died July 19, 1993. They were married September 27, 1947.

Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home is handling local arrangements. (Arrangements in Florida are with Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.) Interment will be in the Garden of Christus, Greenwood Cemetery. There is no viewing. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church at a later date.
