Marvin R. Sheffler, Jr.

August 10, 1938 — April 10, 2020

Marvin Ross Sheffler, Jr., 81, of Indiana, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

A son of the late Marvin Ross and Olive Winona (Wilson) Sheffler, Sr., he was born August 10, 1938, in Indiana.

Mr. Sheffler was a graduate of Indiana High School and was retired from National Mine Service Company, where he was an accountant for over 40 years. He was a member of the Indiana Franklin Lodge 313 and the Indiana Train Collector’s Association.  He was also involved with the Boy Scouts and DeMolay International.  Mr. Sheffler was very active with the Indiana Senior Center and enjoyed his bowling league at Mohawk Lanes. He enjoyed gardening, dancing and decorating for Christmas. Above all, he had a love for life and for his family.

He is survived by four children: Deborah Kay Kennedy and husband Rhett, of San Jose, CA.; Heidi Jo Deming and husband Kenneth, of Smyrna, DE.; Robert Ross Sheffler and wife Susan, of Elderton; and Matthew Miles Sheffler, of Indiana; a sister, Winona Lynn Martin and husband Richard; a sister-in-law Sally; and three grandchildren: Kyle Deming, Chris Sheffler and Timmy Sheffler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann (McAfoose) Sheffler; a daughter Tammy Lynn; and a brother, John (Jack) Wilson Sheffler.

Due to health concerns of COVID-19, all services and interment will be private. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home.
