Mary Jane Gordish

Mary Jane (Shaffer) Gordish, 85, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in Rose Haven Personal Care Home, Indiana, PA.

The daughter of Arley C. and Lillian M. (Markel) Shaffer, she was born March 9, 1938 in Coal Run, PA.

She was a member of Victory Baptist of Homer City.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and dog, taking walks, shopping and gardening.

Surviving are two sons, Ted Gordish of Blairsville, and Mark (Linda) Gordish of Lucernmines; one daughter, Becky Gordish of Apollo; four grandchildren, Alicia Hippchen, Nicole Goldberg, A.J. Gordish, and Courtney Bollinger; five great grandchildren; one brother, Harry Shaffer of Penn Run; one sister, Linda (Fred) Dawson of Aultman; and one sister-in-law, Annelise Shaffer of Blairsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Edward A. Gordish, on December 18, 2017, a son, Andy Gordish on April 23, 2005, a grandson, Brady Bollinger on November 13, 2022, four brothers, Jack, Charles, Tom, and Bob and five sisters, Doris Zimmerman, Sara Marsh, Betty MecKerrich, Anna Ward, and Bessie Layton.

Per Mary Jane’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Interment will be in Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery, Homer City.
