Myrna L. Zona

Myrna Louise (Shankle) Zona, 81, of Blairsville, PA (Black Lick Twp.) passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at her home.

The daughter of Leslie R. and Helen E. (Brink) Shankle, she was born May 23, 1942, in Kittanning, PA.

Myrna graduated from Laura Lamar High School, Class of 1960. She was a member of Hopewell Church in Black Lick Township.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially when she was cooking Sunday dinner for everyone.

Surviving are two sons, John B. Zona Jr. (Bonny) of Clarksburg and Tony (Becky) Zona of Blairsville; three grandchildren, Molly M. Decker, Toni Fairman, and Jenna Donovan; six great grandchildren, Lane, Landry, Marvel, Lorelai, Lyla, and Fallon; and a sister, Joanne Swartz of Avonmore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, John B. Zona Sr. on December 5, 2021, and a brother, Lewis Shankle.

Per Myrna’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time.

Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville is entrusted with the arrangements.

Interment will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Clarksburg, PA.
