Nancy J. (Nixon) Nerone, age 82, August 3, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio. Born Sept. 13, 1938. Preceded in death by parents, George and Eleanor Nixon; brother, Dr. George E. Nixon. Survived by husband, Joseph V. Nerone; children, Robert (Renu), Lisa and Edward (Debra) Nerone; grandchildren, Jacob, Avery, Maxwell, Tyler, Ryan and Alexis; sisters-in-law, Jane Nixon, Phyllis (George) Endress, Mary (Paul) Calabrese; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; special cousin, Karen Stroud; Nancy’s brother was nine years older than her so she was raised like an only child. She had a very happy childhood and was accepting of everyone she met. She met husband Joe in high school, freshman year (1952). She sat behind him in homeroom. They became instant close friends, and at the beginning of their senior year became a couple. They married in 1958 and lived a loving and happy life together. They resided in Latrobe, PA, Blairsville, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, Washington DC and Columbus, Ohio. Motherhood was Nancy’s calling. She was the second person to hold all of her grandchildren. She worked hard to spoil her children and grandchildren. Nancy was stricken with Parkinsonism, ultimately taking her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
