Paul Robert Cunkelman, 85, of Blairsville, PA (Black Lick Twp.) passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at his home.
The son of John G. and Bertha E. (Taylor) Cunkelman, he was born October 13, 1934 in Black Lick Twp., PA.
Paul lived his entire life in Black Lick Twp. He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Acacia Lodge #355, F&AM, B.P.O.E. #406 of Blairsville and served on the Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board from 1975 to 1983.
He graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1952 and worked for Penelec for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1998. After retirement Paul and his wife, Sally owned Raspberry Acres Winery in Blairsville for 20 years.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for two years.
Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Sally A. (Clawson) Cunkelman whom he married August 10, 1957; two sons, Robert P. Cunkelman (Katherine) of Acton, MA and Brian L. Cunkelman (Jennifer) of Hillsboro, NJ; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, Madilynn, Abbigail and Aurora, a brother. Oliver Cunkelman of Homer City and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, John, Ralph, Walter, Willis, George, Earl, William and David Cunkelman and three sisters, Bertha McConnaughey, Ruth Fink and Sarah Weatherford.
Due to the health concerns of the COVID-19 virus, services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date on the family farm.
