Ralph T. "Ted" Freed

Ralph Theodore “Ted” Freed, 86 of Blairsville, PA (Black Lick Twp.), passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 in his home.

The son of Royden C. and Pansy E. (Baughman) Freed, he was born January 4, 1933 in Black Lick, PA.

Ralph worked for Westinghouse of Blairsville as a machine operator until his retirement on April 1, 1991.

He was a member of the Westinghouse Veterans Employee Association and an honorary member of the Jimmy Stewart Museum.  Ralph proudly served in the United States Navy in 1952.

Ralph enjoyed building doll houses, selling trains on eBay, and telling jokes.

He always enjoyed a good dessert. He had a love for animals.

Surviving are many second cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 64 years, Virginia Louise (Smith) Freed.

As per Mr. Freed’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.

Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc. 49 N. Walnut Street, Blairsville, PA 15717 has been entrusted with arrangements.
