Richard G. Dobrick, Sr., 77, of Blairsville, PA departed from this world on Monday, March 3, 2025, in Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.
Born on May 3, 1947, the son of George and Rita (Zamesky) Dobrick, in the town of Trafford, PA, Richard was a man whose life was characterized by a deep sense of duty, service, and love. Throughout his journey, he fostered warmth and kindness in all he did, leaving an enduring impact on countless people.
Rick served in the United States Marines, earning the rank of Sergeant and serving with honor during Vietnam. His military service reflected the honorable and dignified character that defined him. Later, he applied this same dedication and integrity to his career as a castor at PIAD Precision Casting Corp., Greensburg, where he devoted 30 years doing work he found truly meaningful and impactful.
He enjoyed restoring and collecting antiques.
The strength of Richard’s character was ever-present in his role as a loving father and husband. His wife, Susan Ash-Miller, recalls his ability to bring joy and laughter into their lives, always offering his unwavering support and understanding. Throughout his life, Richard was a steadfast source of strength for his surviving children, Rick Dobrick and Nadia Tillman. His wisdom and fun-loving nature are carried on through them.
Surviving is his wife, Susan Ash-Miller of Blairsville, his son, Richard G. Dobrick, II of Missouri, his granddaughter, Nadia Tillman of Blairsville, his sister, Ginger Edwards of Trafford, and his brother, Ken Dobrick of Trafford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Jenifer Miller, and his brother, George Dobrick.
Per Richard’s wishes there will be no visitation. A private service will be held at a later date.
