Rickey A. Emery

Rickey Alan Emery, 71, of Blairsville, PA, (Derry Twp.) passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in AHN Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

The son of Jack R. Emery and Betty (Dyer) Emery Sabol, he was born May 21, 1953, in New Eagle, PA.

After graduating high school in 1971, Rickey continued his education at Penn State, obtaining his BS Degree in Psychology graduating in 1975. He was employed by Torrance State Hospital for 27 years as a psychiatric aide, retiring in 2008.

Rickey enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, traveling, and following politics on the computer.

Surviving is his wife of 23 years, Judy (Gary) Emery, whom he married on November 3, 2000; two children, Jerrod Emery of Derry, and Sarah Emery (George King) of Blairsville; three stepsons, Adam Steigert (Keathe) of Johnstown, David Steigert (Lauren) of Broomfield, CO., and John Steigert (Chelsea) of Indiana; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, Gene Emery (Mary) of Bow, NH.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rickey’s final wish was to participate in the Humanity Gifts Registry body donation program.

Per Rickey’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 1 PM at Grace Bible Church and Academy, 128 Bradenville School Rd, Bradenville, PA 15620 with Pastor Jason Losier officiating.
