Robert E Howard

Robert Edwin Howard, 87, of Sinnemahoning, PA, formerly of Strangford, died on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, PA.

The son of William F. and Matilda E. (Cunningham) Howard, he was born August 25, 1936, in Blacklick Twp., PA.

Mr. Howard was a graduate of Blairsville High School, Class of 1954 and was of the Methodist faith.  He worked construction in the oil and gas industry until his retirement.

He loved living in Cameron County enjoying the wildlife, riding his Harley Davidson, traveling with his family, but the most important part of his life was his family and spending time with them.

Surviving are two children, James R. Howard of Sinnemahoning, and Cheryl Howard of Blairsville; four grandchildren, Jason Howard, Jeremy Howard (Raeanne), Joshua Howard (Lindsey), and Nicole Fritz; five great grandchildren, Nolan, Lauren, Kaylee, Morgan, and Quinn; two sisters, Jane Richards of Derry, and Bertha Chaplin (Stanley) of Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Carol Howard of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 53 years, Ruth A. (Horner) Howard on July 10, 2010, and two brothers, William, and Ernest.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc. 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 PM with Pastor Samuel Scribe officiating.

Interment will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Clarksburg, PA.
