Roland “Frenchie” Levesque, 87, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Greensburg Care Center, Greensburg, PA.
The son of Joseph and Leda (Marquis) Levesque, he was born June 1, 1932 in Epping, NH.
Mr. Levesque was a member of the Homer City United Methodist Church, Black Lick Sportsmen Club, International Brotherhood of Electric Workers and Westinghouse Veterans Association.
He worked 39 years at Blairsville Westinghouse Specialty Metals, retiring in 1993 and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was excellent in wood working, enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, hunting and following the Steelers.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Evelyn M. (Steffy) Levesque whom he married June 5, 1954, four children, Valerie DeMarines (Dan) of Greensburg; Jack Levesque (Dawn) of Blairsville; Jerry Levesque of Whitney, TX and Lori Joseph (Tim) of LaPlata, MD; 11 grandchildren, Matt DeMarines, Mark DeMarines, Brandon Levesque, Joe Levesque, Janelle Williams, Meagan Levesque, Cassie Crusan, Alexander Joseph, Christopher Joseph, Anderson Joseph and Samuel Joseph, 17 great grandchildren and a sister, Germaine LeBanc of Exeter, NH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Adrian, Robert, Rene and Roger, two sisters, Teresa Averill and Simone Sisson and a great grandson, Carter Joseph.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Katrina Laude officiating.
Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
