Rosalind Cavalancia

Rosalind (Trabucco) Cavalancia, 89, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, in The Gardens, Dubois, PA.

The daughter of Dessee and Elizabeth (Dimuzio) Trabucco, she was born on December 16, 1935, in Export, PA.

Roz was a graduate of Export High School, Class of 1953 and worked for Blairsville National Bank later known as PNC Bank for 25 years until her retirement.

She was a devoted parishioner of SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville.

Roz was an avid golfer, she played at the Indiana Country Club, and she was a founding member of the Chestnut Ridge Golf League where she participated in many leagues.

Roz loved attending her children’s and her grandchildren’s school events, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and as a skilled seamstress, sewing her own clothes.

Surviving is her husband of 69 years, James R. Cavalancia, whom she married on October 1, 1955; two sons, Dr. Jeffrey A. Cavalancia (Judy) of Indiana, and Dr. Barry J. Cavalancia of Wayzata, MN; three grandchildren, Dr. James Cavalancia (Dr. Kaite Cavalancia), Carmen Buggey (Shane), and Desiree Cavalancia; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Dino, Joe, and Frank, and three sisters, Genevieve, Dolores, and Mary Ann.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 2-4 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 4 PM on Wednesday at SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, 155 N. Brady St., Blairsville with Rev. Segundino Laude, celebrant.

Entombment will be in the SS Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made in Roz’s memory to the Blairsville Parks and Recreation, 101 N. East Lane, Blairsville, PA 15717 or to SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, 155 N. Brady Street, Blairsville, PA 15717.
