Ruby L. Fumea

Ruby L. (Leatherwood) Harbaugh Fumea, 90, of Blairsville, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019 in Beacon Ridge Nursing Home, Indiana.

The daughter of Clifford Leatherwood and Zelma (Matthews) Leatherwood, she was born in Sevierville, Tennessee on March 9, 1929.

Ruby was a member of Wesley Methodist Church in Virginia for many years.She enjoyed gardening, flowers, birdwatching and watching butterflies. She deeply cherished her family and friends. She was very well loved by everyone.

Ruby worked at Torrance State Hospital as an attendant for over 25 years until her retirement.

She is survived by her children, Linda Carnahan of Blairsville, Butch Harbaugh of Blairsville and Steve Harbaugh of Blairsville; a son-in-law, Joe Kuzemczak of Blairsville; nine grandchildren, Tracy, Yolonda, Tammy, Jason, Toni, Nikki, Brad, Shawn, and Wyatt; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brothers, Tommy, Coy and Jack Leatherwood of Virginia; sisters Ann and Mae Goforth of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jack Harbaugh; her second husband, Enrico Fumea; a daughter, Margaret “Cookie” Kuzemczak; a brother, Bobby Leatherwood; and a grandson, Smokey Carnahan, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 P.M., Wednesday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery.
