Ruie A. Gressley

Ruie Anne (Cramer) Gressley, 98, of Indiana, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at her home.

A daughter of the late Murray R. and Vernie (Green) Cramer, the middle child of nine, Ruie was born April 7, 1926, in Penn Run.

Ruie graduated from Pine Township High School in 1943, where she met the love of her life, Delmont C. Gressley, who preceded her in death in 2010. They were married for 63 years. Ruie and her family were the founding residence in Shadowood Village in 1957. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Grace United Methodist Church of Indiana, where she worked with children’s classes followed by the United Presbyterian Church of Blairsville, where she served as a Deacon until health issues prevailed. Ruie was also a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son, Randy Gressley; three sisters-in-law; Betty Gressley, Doris Jean Cramer and Dolores Cramer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruie was preceded in death by her husband; and eight siblings: Raymond, Ruth, Ralph, Roene, Royden, Robert, Ronald and Rodger.

In keeping with Ruie’s wishes, her visitation and funeral service will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum.
