Ruth K. Reeger

Ruth Kathryn (Reid) Reeger, 91, of New Florence (East Wheatfield Twp.), PA died on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her home.

The daughter of James T. and Ruth H. (Greene) Reid, she was born on February 12, 1933, in Homer City, PA.

She loved crocheting, playing board games and cooking for friends and family, traveling, working on word search puzzles, reading the newspaper, playing solitaire, trying her luck at scratch off tickets, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are three children, Diana R. McCachren (Richard) of New Florence, Roger L. Reeger (Christine) of Hunker, and Warren M. “Dusty” Reeger, Jr. (fiancée Heidi Good) of Coral; nine grandchildren, Richie, Cindy, Thomas, Timothy, Joshua, Jonah, Tabitha, Gabrielle, and Jeff; 31 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a sister, Louella McCachren of Montville, OH; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Quick and Florence Reid; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, Warren M. “Dusty” Reeger, Sr. on June 9, 2017, a great grandchild, Zane McCachren, a great-great grandchild, Vanessa Chisolm, three sisters, Marceline Palmer, Clara Frampton, and Marion Garvin, and four brothers, Russell Quick, James, William and John Reid.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 5-7 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 1 PM with Pastor Jack Lucas officiating.

Interment will be in Luther Chapel Cemetery, Coral, PA.
