Stanley Robert Sulkowski

Stanley Robert Sulkowski, 73, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, at his home.

The son of Stanley and Theresa (Calamera) Sulkowski, he was born September 3, 1949, in Pittsburgh, PA.

Stanley was a graduate of North Catholic High School, Class of 1967 and received an associate degree in engineering from Penn State University.

He worked for PennDot for 38 years until his retirement in 2007 and was a veteran of the US Army.

Stanley was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Kingston.

He enjoyed learning about history, in particular the Civil War era, visiting as many battlefields as possible and collecting baseball cards.

Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Pamela S. (Martz) Sulkowski, whom he married on May 19, 1979; a daughter, Michelle Heckathorn (Josh) of Blairsville; two grandchildren, Cole and Sage; two brothers, Edward Sulkowski (Paula) of Latrobe, and Michael Sulkowski of Ohio; and a sister, Susan Darocy of Wilkinsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 in the funeral home with Pastor David Lear officiating.

Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.

Military services will be conducted at the cemetery by the Blairsville Military Honor Guard.
