William O. Culp

William (Bill) Oliver Culp, 85, of Blairsville, PA (Indiana County), went to be with his Lord and Savior and his wife of 52 years on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, PA. The first of two sons of William Edward (Ed) Culp and Dorothy Catherine Culp (Smith), and loving husband to Darlene Mae Culp (Nicholson), he was born April 19, 1939 in Blairsville, PA.

Bill is an Air Force veteran, serving as a ground communications equipment repairman from 1957 through 1962. He spent the remainder of his working career at Teledyne Vasco (now Allegheny Ludlum Corp) in Latrobe, PA, as an instrument repairman, retiring in 2001 after 39 years of employment. He enjoyed many exciting hobbies, to include amateur radio, target shooting, anything related to computer technology, maintaining his home and farm property, and had a lifelong fascination with all things science fiction and outer space. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments.

Surviving are his daughter, Darla Klingensmith (Culp) of Homer City, PA; his son, Col (Ret., USAF)Kevin Culp and his spouse June, of Centerville, OH; his brother, Glenn Culp and spouse Claudine of Canal Winchester, OH; his grandchildren, Christin (Christi) Eiselman (Klingensmith) and spouse Kenny of Indiana, PA; Robert (Bobby) Klingensmith, of Homer City, PA; Sarah Culp of Broomfield, CO; and Hannah Culp of Beavercreek, OH.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Culp, in 2016; his mother, Dorothy Culp, in 2008; his father, William (Ed) Culp, in 1982; his grandson, William (Billy) Klingensmith, in 2017; and his son-in-law, Robert (Bob) Klingensmith, Sr., in 2011.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm at the SHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME INC., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A brief celebration of life will be held at the funeral home at 1 pm. Interment will be at the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Indiana County, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Citizens’ Ambulance Service, Inc. in memory of William Culp.
