Shoemaker Funeral Home & Monuments is a family owned and operated 3rd-generation funeral home with over three decades of experience serving families in the monument business. Shoemaker Funeral Home & Monuments was originally Hunter Funeral Home prior to 1951. Richard K. and Dorothy J. Shoemaker purchased the funeral home in 1951. In 1953, at the age of 31, Richard K. passed away.
From 1953 to 1973, Dorothy J. ran the funeral home under a widow's license. In 1973, Richard L. and Willa E., the current owners, took over the ownership of the funeral home. In September 2002, Richard K. Shoemaker II became a licensed funeral director and is now an integral part of our monument business and corporation. His wife, Meghan, is also a licensed funeral director and is an important part of our family business.

Robinson Funeral Home was founded in 1891 in Saltsburg by James W. Robinson and his sons, J. Arthur and Harold Robinson. In 1928, J. Arthur expanded the business and opened up their second funeral home in Indiana, later selling the funeral home in Saltsburg. The family business expanded when they were joined by their nephew, R. Mckay Lytle, and his son, Ralph Lytle III, renaming the funeral home Robinson-Lytle Funeral Home.
In 2000, the business was sold to Richard T. Wolfe Jr., who owned and operated the funeral home until he retired and sold the business to the Shoemaker family of Blairsville in February 2020. Richard L. Shoemaker and his son Richard K. Shoemaker II are honored to continue the high level of service families have been shown since 1891. As they have shown the same compassion and respect to their families in Blairsville and all of Indiana County for the past 50 years, Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home will continue the tradition of compassion and respect for families for many years to come.
